Our Aim: To engage Western students and showcase their creativity!

Your Challenge: Create a St Patrick’s Day T-shirt design for the Purple Store for 2020!  The design will be placed on a PLAIN WHITE short sleeve T-shirt, or a PLAIN GREEN short sleeve t-shirt.

 

Eligibility: The Purple Store  St Patrick’s Day T-shirt Contest is open to current Western University Students.

Agreement: All participants must abide by the agreement of the entrant form with full agreement to the official rules and sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this contest. Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. The winning design becomes the property of the University Students’ Council of the University of Western Ontario (the sponsor) for exclusive use in The Purple Store and shall not be used for private enterprise.

Submission Period: Submission period begins on February 3rd, 2020 at 00:00 Eastern Time (EST) and ends on February 23rd, 2020 at 23:59 (EST). . The University Students’ Council of the University of Western Ontario is the official time keeper for the contest period. Submissions received after the contest period are void.

Contest Rules: The winner must follow all instructions of the University Students’ Council at the University of Western Ontario, The Purple Store and their designated representative. If all related instructions are not adhered to, receipt of the prize may be forfeited, in whole or in part. There are no limits to the number of entries per person. T-Shirt design: All entries must be in good taste. No rude or vulgar language, no insults directed at other disciplines, and no plagiarism. Should a contestant choose to use any of the official Western logos or trademarks as part of their design, they must comply with Western’s Graphic Standards or that design will have to be deemed ineligible.  http://communications.uwo.ca/comms/western_brand/graphic_standards.html

The design must be your own original, unpublished work and must not include any third-party logos or copyrighted material. By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work. We recommend that you create your design as a high-resolution image in .eps format to allow for best reproduction on the T-shirts, however, submissions should be resized and uploaded as .jpg images for the purposes of the contest.  Artists are also welcome to submit paper entries to the store, and design pads & markers are provided in-store for contestant use.

Selection of Winner: The Purple Store will announce the winner of the St Patrick’s Day T-Shirt Contest. The winning Western student will be contacted via phone and/or email on or before February 29th, 2020. If the winner does not respond to contact attempts within 48 hours, he/she will be disqualified, and an alternative entrant will be selected for the grand prize. All decisions by the judges are FINAL in all matters relating to this contest. To be eligible to win, all entries must be received by February 23rd, 2020 at 23:59 (EST). There will only be two (2) Grand Prize for the T-Shirt Design Contest. The Grand Prize will consist of: One (1) Gift Certificate for The Purple Store (value $50) and two (2) T-shirts featuring the “winning design”, and winning creators with their entry  will be featured on Purple Store & USC Social Media platforms.  The Grand Prize, as described, may not be exchanged for cash in whole or in part, nor is it transferable.

Privacy: Contact information will not be passed on to any other companies without your expressed permission.

General Conditions: All contest entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they do not follow the criterion provided; or if they are forged, falsified, altered or interfered within any way. By entering the contest, all entrants consent to the use of their image in any future form(s) of publicity by The University Student Council of the University of Western Ontario, without further notice or compensation. By participating in this contest, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bounded by, all Contest Terms, Conditions, Rules and Regulations, including eligibility requirements.

All Entrants release and hold harmless The University Students’ Council of the University of Western Ontario, from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants or his/her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of the Grand Prize awarded.
